Newspaper Events

In 1907, the power house at Llanerch exploded. It was located somewhere along the intersection of Township Line and Darby, most likely.

The Llanerch Post Office was robbed by yeggmen (safe crackers) in 1908. They stole more than $200 ($7,000 in 2025) in goods and ran off, threatenening to shoot those who got in their way. During their escape, one of them was shot by those defending the office, causing them to drop the drawer of money and run off into the woods.

Photographs & Diagrams
