Recently, on June 19th, 2025 a violent storm with winds past 60 mph made its way through the Delaware Valley, including in Llanerch. Power went out to many neighborhoods in the area, including Chatham Glen, and overall affected more than 70,000 households' electricity. Llanerch was luckily spared from large outages, but the physical damage was still evident, as shown below.

Porch Tree
A tree, straddling 25 Tenby Road, 160 Bewley Road, and 18 and 20 Llandaff Road is shown fallen, knocked down from the wind.
Garage Tree
Damage is shown to the garage of 20 Llandaff Road, caused by the aforementioned tree.
Davis Tree
An incredibly old tree (perhaps the oldest on the street and one of the original ones of the road) is shown fallen on Davis Road, uprooting the concrete walkway leading to 303 David Road.
Powerline Tree
A fallen tree branch from 20 Llandaff Road is shown caught in a powerline on Bewley Road.

PECO response to the area was very slow, given the large-scale devastation of forestry and powerlines in the area. It took more than a week for response to come and clean up some parts of the electrical grid, leaving residences like 20 Llandaff Road (who had not suffered outages to the wind, but rather timber impacts on powerlines) without power for days. Brush littered the streets for many days, delayed from removal due to the federal observance of Juneteenth coinciding with trash pickup.
