History of Home Prices in Llanerch

This interactive chart contains the data from more than 440 Llanerch realty transactions from 1903 to the present. This is an interesting set of data that shows the increased cost of housing over time.

Llanerch is certainly an expensive place to live nowadays, but as shown in the past, that's a fairly recent phenomenon. The first six-digit sale didn't occur until 1980, and they didn't become the norm until the second half of the 1980s. The data shows what most other financial graphs from overtime show: the increase in cost of living following the abolishing of the silver standard in 1971.

A few interesting trends seem to emerge:

1. The lack of sales of homes during the Great Depression

2. Despite the average house costing somewhere in the $300,000s during the 2010s, there are a steady chunk of "kind" sales going for under $200,000 until the end of the 2010s.

3. Following 2020, $400,000 seems to be the bare minimum price for a home sold in Llanerch. The first home to go for above $700,000 was in 2016, and 2025 saw the first home sold for more than $800,000.
